&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 3. भारत के विकास में विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी की भूमिका और प्रभाव।
पत्र-1 में आधुनिक भारत (तथा बिहार के विशेष सन्दर्भ में) के इतिहास और भारतीय संस्कृति के अन्तर्गत लगभग उन्नीसवीं शताब्दी के मध्य भाग से लेकर देश के इतिहास की रूप रेखा के साथ-साथ गाँधी, रवीन्द्र और नेहरू से संबंधित प्रश्न भी सम्मिलित होंगे। बिहार के आधुनिक इतिहास के संदर्भ में प्रश्न इस क्षेत्र में पाश्चात्य शिक्षा (प्रौद्योगिकी शिक्षा समेत) के आरम्भ और विकास से पूछे जाएंगे। इसमें भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में बिहार की भूमिका से संबंधित प्रश्न रहेंगे। ये प्रश्न मुख्यतः संथाल विद्रोह, बिहार में 1857 विरसा का आन्दोलन, चम्पारण सत्याग्रह तथा 1942 का भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन से पूछे जाएँगे। परीक्षार्थियों से आशा की जाती है कि वे मौर्य काल तथा पाल काल की कला और पटना कलम चित्रकला की मुख्य विशेषताओं से परिचित होंगे। सांख्यिकीय विश्लेषण आरेखन और सचित्र निरूपण से संबंधित विषयों में सांख्यिकीय आरेखन या चित्रात्मक रूप से प्रस्तुत सामग्री की जानकारी के आधार पर सहज बुद्धि का प्रयोग करते हुए कुछ निष्कर्ष निकालना और उसमें पाई गई कमियों, सीमाओं और असंगतियों का निरूपण करने की क्षमता की परीक्षा होगी।

पत्र-2 में भारतीय राज्य व्यवस्था से संबंधित खंड में भारत की (तथा बिहार की) राजनीतिक व्यवस्था से संबंधित प्रश्न होंगे। भारतीय अर्थ व्यवस्था और भारत तथा बिहार के भूगोल से संबंधित खंड में भारत की योजना और भारत के भौतिक, आर्थिक और सामाजिक भूगोल से संबंधित प्रश्न पूछे जाएँगे। भारत के विकास में विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी के महत्व और प्रभाव से संबंधित तीसरे खंड में ऐसे प्रश्न पूछे जाएँगे, जो भारत तथा बिहार में विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी के महत्व के बारे में उम्मीदवार की जानकारी की परीक्षा करे। इनमें प्रायोगिक पक्ष पर बल दिया जाएगा।

	The Role and Impact of Science and Technology in India&#39;s Development.

Paper-1 will include questions related to the outline of the country&#39;s history from about the mid-nineteenth century onwards, along with questions related to Gandhi, Rabindra (Tagore), and Nehru, within the scope of modern India&#39;s history (with special reference to Bihar) and Indian culture.&nbsp;In the context of Bihar&#39;s modern history, questions will be asked about the beginning and development of Western education (including technological education) in the region.&nbsp;This will include questions related to Bihar&#39;s role in the Indian freedom struggle.&nbsp;These questions will mainly be asked from the Santhal rebellion, the 1857 movement in Bihar, the Champaran Satyagraha, and the 1942 Quit India Movement.&nbsp;Candidates are expected to be familiar with the main features of Mauryan and Pala period art and Patna Kalam painting.&nbsp;The topics related to statistical analysis, diagramming, and illustrative representation will test the ability to draw some conclusions using common sense based on information presented statistically, diagrammatically, or graphically, and to identify the shortcomings, limitations, and inconsistencies found therein.
In Paper-2, the section related to Indian Polity will have questions related to India&#39;s (and Bihar&#39;s) political system.&nbsp;The section related to the Indian Economy and the Geography of India and Bihar will have questions asked about India&#39;s planning and India&#39;s physical, economic, and social geography.&nbsp;The third section related to the importance and impact of science and technology in India&#39;s development will have questions asked that test the candidate&#39;s knowledge about the importance of science and technology in India and Bihar.&nbsp;Emphasis will be placed on the practical aspects of these.

For the purpose of choosing applicants for various administrative positions throughout the state of Bihar, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) administers the main test. The mains exam&rsquo;s essay writing section is a crucial component where applicants must show they can effectively and coherently articulate their writing. The essay writing carries 300 marks. The BPSC essay paper is divided into three parts.
Each section is worth 100 marks.
There are 12 (twelve) essay questions in total, 3 (three) of which must be answered one from each section by the candidate.
And the 700&ndash;800 word essay on any of the aforementioned topics.
